Putting Away All the Baby Loot!!

Since I also have the best family around, I also have the most GENEROUS family around. We had soooooo much baby stuff that it took two carloads to bring it all home. Thank goodness for Kira, Amber, Jennifer & Anna who helped me put it all away and get it cleaned. Also, Kira & Amber, the awesome aunties that they are, put together and assembled all the gear for the baby- from the Pack & Play, to his swing, to bathtub, Baby Bjorn, phew!!! And the list goes on and on... There's no way I would have ever gotten around to all that stuff!! Thank you again, everyone!!

Family Baby Shower

We have THE best family around. And because of this, our son will also have the best family around too! My mom, my sister Lynn, and my Ninang Claring threw me a shower for family at Burger Continental restaurant in Pasadena, Ca. Yes, I know everyone was like, burgers?! Amusingly- its a Greek/ Mediterranean restaurant that has AWESOME food (and is also a family favorite of ours!!)... so no, as much as we are having a boy, we did not have a burger cookout for our baby shower!!! :)

Here are some of the pics- still have more to upload of that day.

So Cal Edison Baby Shower 1/30/2009

Martin works at one of the greatest companies in Southern California- So Cal Edison. As a surprise to him, they threw him a baby shower in his honor, with me also as a surprise guest to him. Needless to say, unfortunately the party wasn't a surprise (because someone at work accidentally CC'd him on the email invite) but me being there was. Martin was so happy to have his colleagues and friends on hand to celebrate his entering daddy hood that he was on cloud 9 all through lunch. Here are some of the pics from that fun time!!!

Crib Building 1/20

Those who know us know that Martin and I are one big "role reversal." He's not too handy and hates to build things- I know, he is an engineer!!! So the crib came in and of course, I got my hot little hands on it ASAP!!

Dini helped supervise, of course!!

And, ta da!!! The finished product!! Now we just need the mattress so that I can get his bedding onto it and it will be really completed!

Painting the Nursery 1/17 & 1/8

THANK YOU UNCLE ANDY, AUNTIE AMBER, DADDY & UNCLE CHRISTIAN!!!!!!

They toiled long and laborous hours into the wee hours of the morning- try 2am to get baby's room to the very light shades of cream and taupe. Can you imagine that just one week ago this room was blue & orange??

Not only that- they did stripes on the two largest walls- which if you've ever paint decorated before, know that this was NOT an easy thing to do. They should go into professional painting, they were awesome!!!

Stripes require strategy, and apparently lots of Math!!! :)

Amber & Khoi get the tedious part of the project, sectioning off the stripes!

Bye Bye Bronco Room!!!

As sad as I was to see my favorite room in the house go bye-bye, I was VERY excited to know that we were going to do something better for it- our baby's nursery!!
Here are the early pre-lim pics of Uncle Christian and Daddy taking the Bronco borders down.
