Kekoa In The Sprinklers

It was a lazy Saturday morning... I really should have posted this then, but it was a crazy day!

We started the day with breakfast on the patio and Kekoa running through the sprinklers- in his pjs. Oh, and he's trying to drink the water. :)

This is what family life is all about.

Malia Rolls- And Here's The Proof!

Yay! I got a video of Malia rolling!

And she's gotten really good at it! I am such a proud Mommy! And watch her at the end on how she's proud of herself too! :)

Family Fun Day On The Lake

Pete & Janet brought his boat down for the weekend. Luckily, we also had Sonny & May visiting us as well. So we went to Diamond Valley Lake, which was only about 15 miles from our home. It was a nice, fun day and the pics will all speak for themselves. Enjoy!

The law is that ALL children under the age of 13 have to wear a lifevest. As you can see, Kekoa was CLEARLY pissed off by that rule.

Malia was so snug in her vest that her cheeks were being squeezed!

The only thing that calmed him down and distracted him from the vest was yet again- another trusty ring pop. These "treats" are certainly helping... but of course, at a limit!

And off we go!!

Now time for a swim (which by the way, is totally illegal at Diamond Valley... the water is so clear and clean that they keep it that way by not allowing body contact sports in the water)

Can you tell that Malia had a good day? :)

Here's Mom driving the boat... listen to the panicked screaming in the background (May) and me laughing like a loon (you can even hear Dad screaming at Mom to stop driving and give the wheel back to Pete)

My How She's Grown!

Malia went in today for her 4 month checkup... and my oh my, she has grown sooooo fast!!

As of 2 months here were Malia's Stats:
Height: 21 inches/ 40% percentile
Weight: 9 lbs. 6 oz/ 22% percentile

As of today at 4 months:
Height: 24.25 inches/ 50% percentile
Weight: 13 lbs. 2 oz/ 50% percentile

I was in SHOCK!!! Malia's weight/ size went from the 6% percentile at birth, to a little greater than 20% percentile, and now she's up to 50% percentile?! She gained a whopping almost 4 pounds in 2 months!

My tiny little girl, whom we all worried about being so little, so early, and so undersized is catching up real fast to the rest of her peers!! I am so grateful and so blessed. Every day God has given her the strength to thrive, and she's doing amazing!! Mommy loves you Malia so much... I can't wait to see what you will grow up to be!

Kekoa and Elmo

Kekoa has a new BFF. Out goes Quincy (from "Little Einsteins") and in comes Elmo. Elmo is where its at. Elmo is the end all be all to the world. Elmo is THE man.

It started when I bought Koa the "Elmo in Grouchland" DVD from Target for $5. I must say, it was the BEST $5 that I ever spent. He fell in love with Elmo. So much so that I asked my sister to pass down the girls' Sesame Street DVDs that they no longer watch and sure enough, all Koa wants to be engrossed in is Elmo.

Today we went to Sea World to celebrate Martin, Bella & Auntie Melia's birthday (see post below!) and of course had to make a stop at Sesame Street land. Sure enough, there was Elmo (and Big Bird too!) true and lifesized... Kekoa went NUTS!! Nuts is an understatement. He made a beeline for Elmo, completely disregarding the line of kids. Of course he was stopped and had a fit. So the entire time that I was in line, Koa cried his heart out just 5 feet away from his beloved Elmo until it was his turn to meet him.

And then came his turn... honestly, I've never seen him just instantaneously switch from ultimate sadness to blissful glee. I've also NEVER seen him hug ANYONE or anything the way he hugged Elmo. He would hug him, then release him to stand back and look at him as if to say, "IS IT REALLY YOU??!!" and then hug him again, play with his nose, and then hug him again... oh it was just a process of sheer love and joy.

And then it came time to say his goodbyes and Koa was heartbroken all over again. It looks like Elmo will most likely have to make a visit for someone's birthday real soon!!

In for more bear hugs (honestly, I've NEVER seen Kekoa hug anyone or anything like this!)

Trying to take a picture, but not wanting to end the hugs

And not wanting to say goodbye, and still grasping onto whatever he can of Elmo :(

...So we did what any normal parent would do, and succumed and bought him an Elmo doll hoping that it would diffuse the situation...

Triple Birthday Celebration at Sea World!!

We had a GREAT weekend lined up!!

Martin, Bella and our friend Melia all celebrate birthdays around each other. So to celebrate, the two families spent a weekend at the Vu Hale to take a trip to Sea World. Sadly, Malia, spent the day with Lola and Lolo who visited with our Vegas family in the OC... we learned from our last trip to Disneyland. Malia is still too young to take to an amusment park when we have her brother to watch for at the same time. We missed her alot the entire day, but it was for the best.

Everyone had a great time... and the pics speak for themselves!! Enjoy!!
