Kristina Visits

One of my very good and longtime friends Kristina came to visit Kekoa for the first time. She was on short leave from her current tour of duty with the U.S. Army, assigned in Iraq.

We are so happy that she was able to not only visit us, but got to know our little boy as well!!!

Kekoa ROLLS!!!!!

Today at around 11:30am at Lolo & Lola's house, Kekoa hit a HUGE milestone- HE TURNED OVER!!!!

We were waiting for Lola to get ready (we were going to the mall to shop for t-shirts to make with the kids on it for Lola & Lola) and Koa was playing with Dad in their bedroom. All of a sudden, I hear Dad screaming for Mom- and I mean, screaming!!! So I came runnning only to find Koa on his tummy on Mom & Dad's bed. Dad/ Lolo was SOOOOO excited for Kekoa!!!! He said that he just had him on his back and all of a sudden he turned to his left side and flipped over, just like that. The only thing was, the crazy monkey in turn got his left arm pinned underneath him and he couldn't push up once he was on his tummy!!!

But... hooray!!!! Barely three months old and already he's turning over!!!

*No pictures here for this one* Although I probably SHOULD start carrying it with me wherever I go, for instances like this one!!!

Happy Boy

Koa had a LOOOOOONG nap today after getting home from the beach. I guess that all that sea air really tuckered him out.

So with all that rest, he was such a good and happy baby. These are also some of the first pics that we got of Koa smiling- we have been so bad with getting his pictures taken whenever he was in a good mood. Luckily we got a bunch!!!! Enjoy!!

Koa's First Beach Day!!!

Together as a family, we went to our usual beach spot- Point Dume in Malibu Beach.

Kekoa of course, slept through most of our time there, but we were able to get a few pics before he fell asleep.

Braiden & Koa

Look at these two- pals already. :)

Braiden Makoa Trang is the little boy of our friends Michael & Stacey Trang. Braiden is 2 months younger than Koa- born on April 22nd. And he's super cute!!!

Here they are together at Hula tonight. We can see them already getting into trouble and beating on those toere drums. They'll look back on this picture one day and trip out at how small they were.

Orochon Ramen in Little Tokyo

Mommy, Daddy & Ninong Christian were craving some brothy soup- so we called Lolo & Lola to join us at Orochon Ramen in J-town.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the place, it was featured on the Travel Channel's Man vs. Food where they serve Ramen soup- all with differing levels of spice. The spice level goes on a scale from 10-1; 10 being no spice, Extreme 1 being the hottest spice. Then there is "Special 1" & "Special 2"- these two are HOTTER than Extreme 1. If you order Special 2, they time you where you have to eat EVERYTHING within 30 minutes. If you do, you get your picture on their wall forever.

Today, Martin tried Special 1 to see if he could do it. Lolo & Ninong Kitch ordered Extreme 1. Me, I was major weak sauce and did Orochon 4. And guess what, Martin finished his whole bowl in 26 minutes!!! No picture awarded on the wall this time, but his next feat next time we go back will be Special 2.

Here he is- no close up though of his runny nose. :)

2 Crazy Monkeys

Some photos of Vivi & Kekoa fooling around together at Lolo & Lola's house this afternoon. Mom was holding Koa and talking to him, getting him to smile. I must say, they're too cute!!!

Do these two even LOOK related?!

My first Mother's Day!!!!

What a great Mother's Day!!!

We started our day by going to church together as a family (Martin, Mom, Dad, Ba Mai, Christian, Lynn, Zac, Bella, Vivi & I) then had a full and fun lunch at Buca Di Beppo on Citywalk, followed by presents opening at Lynn & Zac's house.

Martin gave me Faith Hill tickets at the Hollywood Bowl for this summer (SCORE!!!), and I als received cute PJs from Mom & Dad, as well as a awesome Le Sportsac Baby tote from the Moncriefs.

It was a great day!!

Look who needs more attention :(

Poor Dini (again!)

Tonight while watching tv, I noticed Dini tossing something around in her bed. Not thinking twice about it, I let her go on with her toy. Once I got a good look, I noticed it was Koa's binky that Daddy had un-successfully tried giving him earlier this evening.

I guess Dini figured, "Hell, if he ain't using it, I might as well!!"

Photobucket
P.S. As soon as Dini tired of it, we threw it away. Don't worry, our two "kids" do NOT share chew toys!!!

Ass-less Chaps

Here is Kekoa modeling the pair of BabyLegs that Ninang Lynn gave him in his Easter Basket:
Photobucket
Photobucket
What these really are, are baby leg warmers that really are a godsend!! They act like pants where they keep baby's legs warm- but they allow Mommy to change his diaper a lot easier than if he were to be wearing a creeper or pants at home. Uncle Christian on the other hand is not a fan of these. He said they look like "ass-less chaps." Leave it to Uncle Christian to take something really cute and be so honest about it that it now seems vulgar. :)
