Disneyland- Twice in One Week!!!

Lucky boy, Kekoa!! Today we went to Disneyland with our good friends, the Trangs- Michael, Stacey, Matthew, Hailey and of course- Koa's bud, Braiden!
We started the day late by going in the late afternoon, but staying till it closed. It wasn't so bad with the two little ones- Braiden did so much better than Koa! But still, Koa got to enjoy the nighttime festivities like Fantasmic and the fireworks show in the sky over the castle (where he saw Dumbo!!). All in all, it was a good night! :)

Koa's First Time at Disneyland!!

As all of our family & friends know, I come from a very Disney-fanatical family background. Disney has been in our lives from every aspect possible. When I was a kid, a trip to Disneyland occurred at least 3 or 4 times a year. I also remember that no matter how many times I'd been, my mom would always wait to tell us the day before that we would go- because she knew it riled me up. I could never sleep the night before going to the park, just waiting in anticipation and excitment.

So, it was only natural that I pass that same tradition on to my husband, and now my children... and it was in due time!

Kekoa William Antenorcruz Vu took his first trip to Disneyland on July 26, 2009 at the age of 5 months and 5 days. I couldn't have been more prouder. :)


We got there right when the park opened, so the ABSOLUTE FIRST thing we did was get Koa his first set of Mickey Ears.

1st Date Night- since Koa's birth!!

For Mother's Day Martin gave me tickets to see Faith Hill at the Bowl. Prior to Koa, Martin and I always tried to go to the Hollywood Bowl at least 1 time during the summer concert series. We LOVED it- a picnic, wine and a show- one of our favorite things to do.

Tonight was especially hard for me because it would be one of the longest times that I would be away from Koa- and if something happened I wouldn't be able to get to him right away. Luckily I knew he was in good hands- with his Ninang Lynn, Ninong Zac & Ates Bella & Vivi who were at their friends' house, the LaFontants... so while Mommy and Daddy were enjoying an evening under the stars, Koa was enjoying an evening being fawned over by all these little girls... what a night, huh?

The picnic spread that I made for us comprising of:
Brown Rice with Tomatoes & Basil, Mango Chicken Curry Salad, Caesar Salad, Lemon Grilled Salmon & Sweetened Mixed Berries... YUMMMO!!!

Yup, I'm proud of what I made. :)

And its not a picnic at the bowl without some great wine- which unfortunately Martin had to enjoy by himself since I'm still nursing Koa!

Beach Time (Again!)!!

Point Dume- our usual spot for our family. And a beach trip the day after the 4th of July is starting to become a tradition for the Antenorcruz/ Moncrief/ Vu family (or at least it has been since grandkids came in the mix!).

Like always, we had a great day filled with sunshine, long walks, sand play and coooooooold water!!! Unfortunately it also started to get real windy, so we had to call it an early day after lunch.

Kekoa's 1st Time in the Pool!!

For 4th of July, we usually head over to Uncle Tony & Auntie Chris' house in West Covina for a family lunch with lots of food and swimming.

Kekoa, today, for the first time got to try his little flippers in the pool with Daddy. If his bath times were any indication of how much he would like the pool, then we KNEW he would LOVE it... And sure enough he did.

Here he is in his coolio raft/ canopy thingie that he got to float around in. Yes, he rides only in style. :)
