-Kekoa was born at 10:14 am- after about 6 hours of active labor. (My water broke at exactly 4am, and from there the contractions went from 0 to 100 really fast!)
-I went a full 10cm dilation before getting an epideral (which was awesome because it MORE than surpassed my goal!)
-It took the anesthesiologist 3 (YES- THREE!!!!) tries of insertion and re-insertion of my epideral before it finally kicked in. (This was all due to my scoliosis, and him finally realizing that I had the abnormal curvature which prevented me from feeling the effects the first two times). You should ask Martin his story of overhearing the anesthesiologist telling his colleagues how this was his worst experience ever in all his years of practice (but yet, how awesome and patient his patient (ME!!!) was about it!!)
-I only pushed for about 30-35 minutes before Kekoa made his appearance.
-Kekoa weighed in at 6 lbs. 15.8 oz, and stood tall at 18 1/2 inches long
-The breakdown of our son's name:
Kekoa: Hawaiian for "The Warrior"- picked by Martin who had a friend with the same name.
William: Named afer my Father
Antenorcruz: My maiden name
Vu: Our Family Name
Already Kekoa is doing well, and adjusting to his new life.
