Quality Time With Ong Thuc

My babies are really lucky. They have four grandparents that really do love them more than anything in the world. No matter how naughty or mischievous they can get, the grandparents can never get enough.

One Friday afternoon Ong Thuc brought out a Uke that Uncle Christian got for Kekoa... the babies had so much fun being entertained by him. It was such a cute sight to see and a memory that I wanted to record for my babies so I did.

Following In Daddy's Footsteps

Everyone comments on how much my kids LOVE music and how well they both dance. Usually, if you know us well enough, the observation will be "Looks like you'll have two hula dancers on your hands, just like Mommy and Daddy." By the way, I LOVE hearing that. Nothing would make me prouder than to hear Malia and Kekoa chanting in Hawaiian and dancing Kahiko... competitively. :) Or to have Kekoa on his very own Toere drum hitting out some beats while Malia Tahitian dances her way through, shaking her okole to the beat. My dream, yes. But I believe I still have some time to pave the way for that dream.

In the meantime, Koa is already fulfilling a part of his Daddy's dream... something that was a HUGE part of Martin's adolescence that essentially helped shaped him to the discipline and determination he has today... yes, my friends, BREAK DANCING! Hahahaha! Yes, I know you're thinking, "I totally FORGOT that Martin was a B-boy!" In actuality, Martin was an AMAZING B-Boy. I know he'll dispute that, but he grew up and danced with some of the better ones in his generation, a few still doing in professionally. Plus too, Martin loved it. It was such a huge part of his life.

I have a feeling that the technicality and sheer physical-ness of it all will be right up Kekoa's alley.

Here he is getting his first lessons from Daddy. :)
