Look Who's Sitting!

Kekoa has been sitting on his own for a couple of weeks now, but unfortunately I never got it on film. Here he is, happy as a clam that he's got the core- balance thing down... Daddy is so proud. :)

Kekoa's 1st Haircut!!

For weeks now I have been hounding Martin about cutting Koa's hair. Martin on the other hand just couldn't bring himself to cut his own son's hair and would always quickly disagree with me whenever I said that he needed one.

It wasn't until we took a walk the other day with Koa & the Dins that someone stopped us to admire not only our little dog, but our beautiful "little girl" as well. Hahaha!!! That did it, KOA WAS GETTING A HAIR CUT WHETHER DADDY LIKED IT OR NOT!!!

Koa was a good sport, until Daddy, the ever perfectionist that he is, took too long and Koa's patience ran thin. Mommy on the other hand is so sad that her little boy is growing up so fast, but LOVES the new-do!!!!

Ok Daddy, just a little off the sides!

Jumping Koa

Martin's parents, (Ong Thuc & Ba Mai to Koa) LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Koa! They love him so much that they decided that Koa needed an entertainment jumper for the house- because as everyone knows, Koa's too rambunctious (yes, even for just under 6 months old!) and needs to find an outlet for all of his energy. In comes... ta da!!! A stationary jumper!! Predictably, Koa LOVED it!!!!

Thank you Ong Thuc & Ba Mai for the jumper!!! I'm sure it will provide tons of fun (and minutes for our sanity!!!) :)

Da Hawaiian Ohana Come to Reunite!!!!

Today our cousin Grant got married in Malibu, Ca at the historical Adamson House. Not only was it a gorgeous wedding at a gorgeous venue, but some of my favorite cousins came together to reunite again, after what could have been years! (Ok, weeks for some of us locals, but a few years for our cousin Kim who lives now in Pearl City, Hawaii) We had a great time, good laughs and some yummy Hors D'Oeuvres (SP??) on the beach. And, this was the first time that Koa got to meet and know this side of the family. Good times, good times.

Koa's 1st Solid- Rice Cereal!!

I still can't get over the comedy of Cereal + My Kid= One Big Mess

We had Koa try rice cereal today- to no success. He's hitting that near 6 month mark, and we were antsy to see if he would start taking solids (in the hope that he could also start sleeping through the night now with a fuller tummy!). Unfortunately Koa doesn't yet have that tongue/ swallow thing going on yet. He opened his mouth perfectly for every bite full, but not all of the cereal made it to the back of the throat! Yes, he swallowed some, but still... doubtful!

Oh well, that just means we keep on trying and practicing!

"Whatchu got there Mommy??"
Photobucket

"Hmmm... you mean, I put this in my mouth and its ok?"
Photobucket

...And here it goes! Attempt #1
Photobucket

"Wait! What the??? What is that?!"
Photobucket

"I'll just eat my bib- it tastes better"
Photobucket

"Ugh, I have to get that funky taste out of my mouth!"
Photobucket

Attempt #2... and this time, no bib for distraction!
Photobucket

"Ewwww... it's still funky the second time around."
Photobucket

"Does this EVER get better?!"
Photobucket
Photobucket

"Mommy, all I know is, this 'solid food' eating better get yummy soon!"
