Koa's First Halloween!

Yay for Halloween! While I have to admit, its not my favorite holiday of the year (I mean, how much fun is it really to just have the crud scared out of you??) now, that I have a child, I have to make it as important as possible. Granted, Koa will never have ANY memory of what he did today for Halloween, but we'll at least have some great photos to look fondly on (and get some really good laughs at too!)

Martin, being the HUMONGOUS Star Wars fan that he is (although he didn't dress up with Koa to match him), seemed only fitting that we would dress Koa in his very first costume as... who else?? YODA!!! I have to admit, for a little green alien man, he was pretty cute. :)

Our evening was going to be spent at Ninong Lynn & Ninong Zac's house for their annual Halloween SPOOKTACULARRRRRRRR. But first, a quick stop at Lolo & Lola's house so they could see his costume.

*WARNING: this IS a picture OVERLOAD!!*

On the way there, we ran into Ong Thuc!

Koa does not look amused being in this costume :)

Don't sleep yet Koa, the fun hasn't even begun!

Yoda, chillin with his lightsaber (Ok, not really a lightsaber, but it was the smallest light up toy we could find!)
Photobucket

Hey Guys! Stop laughing at me! Haven't you ever seen a little green midget before?!

With Lola, Dini & Daddy in his creepy costume- its supposed to be someone from work, until Uncle Christian pointed out who it really resembled and we all were just creeped out by it even more. :)

Lola showed Koa some mercy- she took off his hot costume and gave him what the days' all about... CANDY!!

Photobucket

Wow, Lola! Is this really all for me??
Photobucket

My kid, the double fister- and with one already in his mouth!!!

Again, more laughter at this poor kid's expense... wearing Daddy's mask- poor thing!

So, on to the party! It was a blast as always- THANK YOU MONCRIEFS!!!! Bella was a Superhero- SUPER BELLA to be exact!!! And Vivi was her absolute favorite thing in the world- a LADYBUG!!!!!

Here they are with their vampire fangs... and yes, Vivi with her drool! Love it!

Their three buckets!!! Sadly, none of us got a picture of all three of them together. Sad! :(
Photobucket

Bella, doing the robot- or I guess, Super Robot?

CAUGHT!!

Koa, the mischievious kid that he is, is ALL OVER the place. He's been crawling off his tummy for a few months now, so he's picked up some speed. Our rooms are now gated off due to the fact that in his crawling rampage he has broken our DVD feeder tray, pulled hair out of poor Dini's tail (and yet faced NO retaliation from her- poor girl!!) and scratched a whole bunch of CDs/ DVDs with his bottom teeth. Yes folks... and he's only 8 months old!!

So it was only a matter of time that he would start moving on to better and bigger things- such as standing and walking. He's been standing by pulling on whatever he can reach out for (a rail, the edge of the couch or ottoman, Dini- yes, AGAIN!). The other day I left him in his room to play with his toys and caught him swinging on his lamb swing, yet he wasn't actually sitting in it.

Koa, the destroyer... my bad boy.

Haha Mom! You caught me!
Photobucket

Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! I'm losing balance!
Photobucket

Whew! That was close- but I got this Mom!

No More Baby Food For This Baby!

Our baby is over BABY FOOD!!! Mommy is sooo sad... he's growing too fast!

We noticed over almost a week now that Kekoa was refusing ALL baby food/ purees. At first we thought that it was because he may have been teething and didn't want to eat. But the other night, my sister noticed that not only did he refuse to eat his purees, but he plowed through all of his snacks that he eats by feeding himself (veggie corn puffs, fruit wagon wheels, yogurt drops)... obviously the poor boy was still hungry. :(

Mommy still in denial, tried purees yet AGAIN today... which he STILL refused!!! So, I decided, let's try something new.

I cut up a few avocado pieces and cubed up some whole grain wheat bread... and ta da!!! Instant dinner, which he LOVED!!! I guess my baby is growing up and ready to join us at the dinner table with his big boy foods.

Hmmm... avocado and wheat bread, huh?? Ok mom, I'll give it a try!

Take a bite!
